Last Tuesday, 15th October, saw Blades heading off on their annual trip away. This year’s trip was to Kilronan Castle & Spa in the lovely country of Roscommon. The staff were exceptional and very helpful. The food, service and the spa were definitely the highlights of the things they enjoyed.
Their Entertainment Manager Rose Laverty was on hand to arrange the music and acts who were performing. They had an ABBA Tribute Band, A Patrick Kavanagh recital and song and then to top it off we had the music and shakers.
Wednesday took them on another adventure in Carrick on Shannon where we boarded The Moon River Cruise Boat. Rory and his team looked after them extremely well with freshly brewed Coffee, Tea and homemade Scones with fresh cream and jam.
Feargal who was playing live music onboard entertained the women and soon they were all up dancing and participating in the music and fun. The lovely Maureen Crawley who sang Raglan Road and other pieces by Patrick Kavanagh. Maureen was a great hit with the crew and the women.
Thursday then took them off to Longford for some retail therapy and free time. They then headed to the Slieve Russell for a wonderful dinner on the way home where Anita and her team looked after us very well.
The ladies had a lovely time and a big thank you to Arron the bus driver from A2B Coaches who looked after them all extremely well for the few days, Monaghan County Council with Barry Eaton for their continued support, the Board of Management from Blades who give their time so freely in keeping Blades as active as we are.
A big thank you to everyone from Lorraine and all the staff at Blades.
We really appreciate all our members and the Board of Management.
