This year’s theme is ‘Ageing with Independence’
The National Older Peoples Council Convention brings the Older People’s Councils together from all across Ireland giving an opportunity to discuss topics, network and learn from each other. The benefit of the Convention is to contribute to the work of the Older People’s Council.
The two day convention started on Thursday 9th May and finished up on Friday 10th May.
Our Master of Ceremonies for Thursday was Edward Hayden, Chef and Radio Broadcaster who did a wonderful job. We had addresses from Michael Doyle, Cathaoirleach Kilkenny County Council who official opened the Convention. There was many information stands for people to visit, from Healthy Age Friendly Homes, An Garda Síochana, Kilkenny Fire and Rescue Service, Acorn, Alone, to name but a few.
