National Screening Service - Patient and Public Partnership Recruitment Campaign 2024

What do Patient and Public Partnership (PPP) network members do?

The National Screening Service has four screening programmes. They are BreastCheck, BowelScreen, CervicalCheck and Diabetic RetinaScreen (an eye disease linked to diabetes). Working in partnership with us, PPPs:

  • join our project teams and committees alongside our staff sharing their views and life experiences to deliver our annual workplan.
  • provide feedback on our publications and other information sources ensuring they are easy to access, understand and act on.

Examples of recent work that our PPPs have partnered with us on include, publishing our Corporate Strategy and Equity Framework, being active on our initiative to eliminate cervical cancer in Ireland by 2040, and membership of our Quality, Safety and Risk committee. They have assisted in developing information leaflets, consent forms, factsheets and invitation letters to screening – informing people about screening, its benefits and its limitations.
