Invitation to Take Part in Research on Fire Evacuation from Homes

Age Friendly Ireland | National

ATU

A researcher from Atlantic Technical University’s Department of Engineering, Eoin O’Dowd,  is inviting older people to respond to a survey for his study on Evacuation of Homes in relation to fire emergencies.

This study is examining the design principles underpinning the means of escape of homes in Ireland, and evaluating the adequacy of means of escape for all people living in the home. He is particularly interested in how accessibility issues in older people’s homes impact on how easily they could escape a fire.

The study will contribute to an understanding of the design and adequacy of escape for all persons and will contribute to the field of Universal Design of fire evacuation processes. The questionnaire is anonymous.  This study has been approved by the university’s Research Ethics Committee.

Questionnaires can be completed online Here

If you wish to give you answers over the phone, please text or call Eoin O’Dowd on 087 122 4980.
