Challenging Ageism in Drogheda, Co Louth

Age Friendly Ireland | Local | Louth

Age Friendly Mayo

Age Friendly Louth are holding their final age friendly event of 2024 in the Barbican Centre Drogheda on Thursday 28th November from 11.00am -1.30pm.

The theme of the event is challenging ageism in Drogheda and it is a follow on event from a workshop held earlier this year in which older people in Drogheda and south Louth were asked to discuss the theme of ageism and ageing in Co Louth.   Those attending came up with initial project  ideas to challenge ageism and reframe the conversation around growing older in the county.

Those attending on 28th November will be given a presentation on a successful Challenging Ageism Drama project in Co Louth which helped explore the issue of ageing through the creative arts.

Attendees will then be asked to give their opinions on other projects/proposals  that could be rolled out in Drogheda and South Louth in 2025.

Sage Advocacy will also provide a short presentation on their services and supports. They act on behalf of older people who need support in fulfilling their wish to remain living in their own homes and communities.

Tis  Age Friendly event is free but booking is recommended. Please contact or 042 9324389 to book a place.
