Anna McHugh

As a member of An Post’s senior management team, Anna is responsible for the communications strategy supporting the Company’s ongoing Transformation from the old world of traditional letters and cash, to the new world of ecommerce parcels and financial services. She leads the 13-strong Corporate Communications team, including External and Internal Communications, Public Affairs, Irish Stamp Design & Production and Irish Language.
Anna is a director of the An Post Witness History Museum, and a Fellow of the Public Relations Institute of Ireland. A graduate of UCD (BA English & History) and DIT (Public Relations), Anna worked in PR Consultancy, as a freelancer and with the Shannon Group before joining An Post as Press Officer in the early 1990s. She likes to play tennis for exercise and sanity, and is currently President of Claremont Railway Lawn Tennis Club in Sandymount, Dublin where she has played since childhood.
Louise Edmonds, Age Friendly Ireland Regional Manager and Senior Community Development Officer with over 30 years’ experience in working in areas of urban and rural community development projects across the Fingal and East Coast region. supporting a wide variety of groups and organisations including Senior Citizens groups across the county, working on projects from Digitise the Nation to the Acorn Project working in collaboration with older people across the country.
Louise lives in Clonsilla and has studied at UCD in Community Development and Women’s Studies; she went back as a mature student to study Ageing with Confidence with Age & Opportunity, based on an ethos of empowerment and mutual self-help which she can deliver through community development practices.
Louise worked as a Community Employment Supervisor for eight years and trained in the National College of Industrial Relations, Management Development, and supervisory management and while working on cross border projects undertook training in the Glen Cree Centre for Reconciliation in Conflict Resolution and Mediation.
Louise appreciates the little things in life such as walking her dog on the beach and cooking, baking, singing – in no particular order.

Orlaith Carmody
Communications Consultant and Business Advisor to Age Friendly Ireland
Orlaith Carmody is a Communications Consultant and Business Advisor to Age Friendly Ireland. She has delivered coaching, training and workshops for many years, nationally and internationally.
She is the author of Perform As A Leader, which shares her coaching and teaching over 20 years, and offers a complete toolkit to anyone looking to develop their front line communication skills – pitching, presenting, chairing, negotiating, performing on the media or coaching and leading teams.
Following an early career as a broadcast journalist with RTÉ, Orlaith became a director of a number of SMEs in media and recruitment, and served on the board of RTÉ from 2010 to 2015. She currently serves on the Compliance Committee of the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland, and is voluntary Chair of the Shona Project
