The Clare Older People’s Council is a representative group of older people, supported by the Local Authority as part of the Clare Age Friendly Programme. Their membership is made up of individual older people and representatives of older peoples groups, for example, community and voluntary groups, active retirement groups, people with dementia, people living in residential care, men’s sheds, women’s sheds and people of different ethnicities. They bring the voice of older people into local government and help to inform private and public service provision. They are a voluntary group who provides opportunities for people to share their concerns as older people living in the community and to work with key agencies and service providers at a strategic level to co-design solutions in response to barriers and challenges faced.

We have 20 members at the moment that meet once a month. First Tuesday of each month.
