He is currently the National Manager of the Healthy Age Friendly Homes Programme which aims to support older people to live in their own home with dignity and independence, for as long as possible, and reduce the number and rate of transfer to long-term residential care.  The programme’s ambition is to enable older people to live longer healthier lives by keeping care close to home and expanding the range of health and social care services in the community. The project is a partnership between Age Friendly Ireland, a shared service centre operating the National Age Friendly programme, and Sláintecare, the Irish Government’s ten year programme for reform of the health care sector. This  project represents an innovative approach in operating between housing services in local government and health.
