The turning of the sod in Dundermott, Ballymoe, County Roscommon is part of a €250, 000 development, it’s the second slipway that will be completed at the end of August, the first one is located 5 kilometres away at Shancoo , Castlerea, County Roscommon.

There are plans for further investment in such developments along the River Suck and to involve local older citizens and people with disabilities, older people are seen as having a major part to play in the development of Tourism.

It is hoped to get Ambassadors in all the towns and villages, ‘what’s ordinary to us can be extraordinary to the tourist’, the older people can play a part as Ambassadors and work closely with Age Friendly Ireland.
