Limerick Older Person’s Executive Meet with Mayor John Moran to discuss the Mayoral Programme 2024 – 2029

The Age Friendly Older Persons Executive held an online meeting with Mayor John Moran in September 2024 to discuss the themes of his Mayoral Programme and to discuss the Age Friendly Strategic Plan 2024 to 2028 with its 8 World Health organisation themes for Age Friendly. Mayor Moran discussed broadly what he hoped to achieve over the coming 5 years and facilitated a Question & Answers discussion in relation to issues affecting people as they age in Limerick City & County.

On conclusion of this online meeting Mayor Moran invited the OPE members to visit him in his office. On Monday 21st, October, 2024 Mayor Moran welcomed our OPE to his Boardroom in City Hall, Limerick where he outlined some key items from the newly published Mayoral Programme 2024-2029 and held an informal discussion with the Group  on issues to continue to make Limerick a model county for growing older. This was followed by a presentation to the Mayor by the Chairperson of the Older Persons executive, Elizabeth Stanley, and Age Friendly Programme Manager  for Limerick, Catherine Bowes Kelly.
