What is Ageing: Debunking the Myths?
We are all ageing from the moment we are born, yet many of us do not feel
‘positive’ about ageing or becoming ‘older’ and have never really examined
where our negative perceptions come from.
In these group workshops we will look at how we feel about ‘ageing’ (positive
and negative aspects); consider what ‘ageism’ is and our experiences of it;
examine negative ‘myths’ on ageing; think about positive ageing in terms of
making choices about how we want to age and how age can be considered a gift,
presenting opportunity.

Who are Age & Opportunity?
Age & Opportunity is the national organisation that provides a range of
opportunities for older people who want to get more involved in arts and
culture, sport and physical activity, civic engagement and personal
development. Our aim is to enable the best possible quality of life for us all as
we age, where we are more active, more visible, more creative, more connected
and more confident.

Ageing: Debunking the Myths is funded by the HSE National Lottery grants fund.
