Clare Cultural Companions have had a busy summer season with social gatherings to Inis Mór, Loophead Lighthouse and Vandeleur Walled Gardens and Visitor Centre.

This week, 5th of September, the Clare Age Friendly programme hosted a Cultural Companions taster session specifically tailored for older people from Ukraine. Forty older people from Ukraine living in different parts of County Clare visited Loophead Lighthouse and Vandeleur Walled Gardens and Visitor Centre.

The group had a guided tour of both tourism sites, learning about the rich history of the area, experiencing local cuisine, and taking in the beautiful sights and sounds.

This event was arranged in collaboration with Clare Local Development Company and, as members of Clare Cultural Companions, the participants are encouraged to engage with the wider Cultural Companions community for future cultural events.
