Our Older Persons Executive consists of 3 representatives from each of our 4 Municipal Districts – Metropolitan, Adare/Rathkeale, Newcastle West & Cappamore/Kilmallock. They meet bi-monthly throughout the year. The chairperson & vice chairperson serve as a link between the county Age Friendly Alliance & local older peoples groups.
Our members help to guide Limerick City & County Council with issues relating to Older People through their representative voice. They also play an active part in helping to deliver the actions in Limericks Age Friendly Strategy through activities such as taking part in walkability audits.

Representatives from our Older Person’s Executive attend the Age Friendly National convention annually, taking the opportunity to get involved in national consultation & events. Our representatives attending the 2025 convention got the chance to discuss their opinions with the Minster for Older People, Kieran O’Donnell.
Elizabeth Liz Stanley and Paddy Hyland were elected Chairperson and Vice Chairperson of the Limerick Older People’s Executive.
