We are in the process of getting a new OPC, along with the launch of the new Age Friendly Strategy. Recent initiatives by the outgoing OPC and the Age Friendly Program were the ICE Card initiative, which launched in November 2022. This card is a wallet sized card which was designed with assistance from emergency services and it acts as a source of information for first responders. It contains such info as your name, Eircode, emergency contact, chemist.
We also held a Living well Expo on April 2023 in conjunction with Healthy Laois, which showcased the supports and services available in Laois. This was attended by approx. 1000
people and on the day we had 70 exhibitors from Local, Regional & National level, all of whom offer supports in Co Laois.
