The Here Comes the Sun project has fostered creativity across the generations connecting communities across county Clare. This Age Friendly intergenerational project brings together primary schools, secondary schools, nursing homes, virtual day centres, and families.

Super Connectors Project

The project is led by Louth Age Friendly, Louth PPN and Healthy Louth. The aim of the project is to reduce the digital divide for older adults.

“Minding our Health as we Age”

Broadcast on local radio on various elements of health as we age. To be available online also. Create booklet with content used on show for distribution.

FEAD Programme

The Fund for European Aid to the most Deprived (FEAD) is an EU-wide programme to help people take their first steps out of poverty and social exclusion.

Helping Hands at Home

Helping Hands at Home is a volunteer programme which supports older people to remain living at home independently and to improve their quality of life in a number of ways: -Practical help & support with housekeeping -Reducing isolation through befriending -Information & Advocacy as needed

Basic Digital Skills

weekly online classes teaching older people how to stay connected with friends and family, do their shopping online, download ebooks and enewspaers, magazines etc.

Tea and Tunes

The project is aimed at linking older adults with their families virtually through tea and tunes.

Independent Living and Care

25-30 older adults will be assessed following referral and provided with suitable technology to suit their needs and allow them to stay safe in their homes

Age Friendly Cook Along

Virtual Cook Along Programme to encourage older people to engage with each other by fun means during the COVID Restrictions – Jan-March 2021

Sligo Exercise From Home Leaflet

To provide a coordinated programme of physical activities to support individuals especially those cocooning in the home as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic especially those who may not have access to online supports.

Kildare Sports Partnership COVID-19 Physical Activity Programme

During the first COVID-19 lockdown Kildare Sports Partnership developed the Kildare COVID-19 Physical Activity Programme to connect with individuals, families and communities engaged in physical activity during the pandemic and to promote and support what was happening in a structured way, highlighting the physical and mental benefits of being physically active, particularly during this abnormal and difficult period.
