Tipperary County Council have funded new physical activity equipment for service users in Day Care Centres across County Tipperary.

Eoin Kaar, Tipperary County Council’s Healthy County Coordinator said “We are delighted to support the Day Care Centres in Tipperary with indoor and outdoor play equipment, it’s fantastic to see the support that these centres provide on a day to day basis, and the local teams work incredibly hard to support adults in moving more, increasing their daily physical activity levels and encouraging social engagement through activities and play”.
The play equipment was funded through the Healthy Ireland Initiative – a government led program aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of everyone living in Ireland, focusing on preventing chronic diseases and promoting healthier lifestyles.

Day Care Centres in Tipperary Town, Clonmel, Fethard, Clogheen, Cahir, Cashel and Carrick on Suir were supported with physical activity equipment through Healthy Tipperary.
Mairead McCormack, manager of Fethard Day Care Centre said “Thanks to Healthy Tipperary and Tipperary County Council for funding our new physical activity equipment. These games can be used both indoors and outdoors and we can’t wait to get playing them”.
