Age & Opportunity’s Bealtaine Festival are currently seeking applications for our Spirit of Bealtaine Award and the Bealtaine Touring Award, both for presentation at the 2025 Bealtaine Festival next May.

Next year’s festival marks our 30th anniversary, and we are excited to welcome innovative proposals for each award. We especially invite members of marginalised or underrepresented communities to apply.

The Bealtaine Touring Award 2025

touring award

The call for performing arts tours in 2025 invites artists and producers to submit proposals for consideration by Age & Opportunity. Age & Opportunity will provide a platform for presenting the tour during the Bealtaine Festival in the month of May along with some financial support.

The producer/artist will be responsible for all aspects of the production and tour, with Age & Opportunity as a co-producer. The tour must happen during the month of May 2025 (but may have additional dates outside of this period) and have at least three shows/performances.

The Spirit of Bealtaine Award 2025

Bealtaine award

Age & Opportunity’s Bealtaine Festival invites applications for the Spirit of Bealtaine Award (formerly known as the Bealtaine Hero Award), aiming to recognise two innovative grassroots arts projects. We welcome proposals from individuals and community-based groups who wish to create an exciting new festival event—whether online, blended, or in-person—to be presented during the Bealtaine Festival 2025.

We especially encourage applications from members of marginalised or underrepresented groups, and proposals that offer ambitious, creative, and experimental invitations to their communities this May. We are particularly eager to hear from projects involving artists aged 50+ or underrepresented communities. All art forms and event types will be considered, but non-arts events will not be eligible (please refer to the guideline appendix for examples)

Deadline for both Awards is Wednesday, 13th November 2024.
