Working Together To Monaghan A Great Place To Age

Monaghan Age Friendly Alliance has recently undergone a restructuring process. The newly formed Alliance met on Friday 5th September. The Alliance is a high-level cross sector group chaired by Robert Burns Chief Executive Monaghan County Council.

The Age Friendly Alliance brings together representatives from public and private sector organisations, community and voluntary organisations and older people. Their key priority will be to develop a new Age Friendly Strategy 2026-2030. To do this in collaboration with Age Friendly Programme Manager and Older Persons Council they will begin this process by carrying out a socioeconomic profile of the county followed by an extensive public consultation to develop an Action Plan for the delivery of the Strategy.

Chief Executive Robert Burns said “I am delighted to be joined by all the agencies on the Monaghan Age Friendly Alliance to make County Monaghan a great place to live and to age well. Collaboration will be the key to the success of this Alliance, and it is great to see so much commitment from all new members. I look forward to working with them all in the future to ensure we combine resources to deliver initiatives that will meet the expressed needs and interests of all our older people across the county”.
