Minister O’Connor was warmly welcomed to Roscommon County Council on Thursday, 11th December 2025. She met with members of Roscommon’s Older People’s Council/Age Friendly Programme, as well as Roscommon’s Comhairle na nÓg Team and members of Roscommon County Council’s Health and Wellbeing Committee.

Majella Dodd, Vice Chairperson, Roscommon’s Older People’s Council addressed the Minister. She highlighted various Age Friendly events that had taken place in 2025 and outlined the many initiatives currently being undertaken by Roscommon’s Age Friendly Programme. She also spoke of the crucial role the Older People’s Council plays in Roscommon’s Age Friendly Programme and their contribution to Roscommon’s Age Friendly Strategy 2025-2030.
