Putting Your House in Order Workshops

Creative Cavan, Cavan Age Friendly and Cavan County Library Service were delighted to welcome Irish Hospice Foundation and Decision Support Service to 4 workshops in Johnston Central Library, Belturbet Library, Dowra Courtouse  and Virginia Library during week commencing 17th November 2025.

 The workshops aimed to help with planning legal, medical, financial and personal affairs for the future, including:  

  • Enduring Power of Attorney  
  • Advance Healthcare Directives  
  • Decision-Making Supports  

Brilliant attendance and engagement by all who attended.  

Delivered as part of Art of Life – A Creative Ireland Shared Island Health and Wellbeing  


Creative Ireland’s Shared Island Conference, in Croke Park, Dublin 

Taoiseach Micheál Martin and Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport, Patrick O’Donovan, addressed more than 300 guests at the Creative Ireland Shared Island conference in Croke Park, Dublin on Thursday 13 November 

The event, Creativity Connecting People, celebrated the achievements of 47 Shared Island projects that have fostered partnerships, creativity, and lasting friendships across the island since 2023.   

Hosted by journalist Dearbhail McDonald, the conference included a range of panels which included Sharon Howe, Creative Cavan Engagement Officer presenting on the Art of Life.  Emma Clancy, Creative Cavan Co-ordinator and Allison Forbes Project Manager of South West Age Partnership presented an Taoiseach with a print of the Art of Life image of the River Erne commissioned for the project by local Artist Kim Gaffney Art.

The Art of Life project is funded through Creative Ireland Health and Wellbeing Shared Island.  Led by Creative Cavan the project aims to normalise conversations around death, dying and end of life in order to promote the importance of planning for end of life.  The project is delivered in Counties Cavan, Fermanagh and Tyrone and partners Creative Cavan, Cavan County Councils Library Service, Libraries NI, Cavan Age Friendly, Health Ireland at your Library, Irish Hospice Foundation, Compassionate Communities NI  and South West Age Partnership.   For more information visit : Art of Life – Cavan County Libraries
