Age Friendly Ireland | Local | Kildare

Kildare County Council has announced plans for a new Age Friendly housing development at Mill Lane, Leixlip, aimed at providing accessible and inclusive living for older residents.

The project involves the construction of 36 purpose-built apartments across four buildings, ranging from one to three storeys. The mix includes 1- and 2-bedroom units, alongside a common room and reception area to support community engagement. Designed with accessibility in mind, the development will feature pedestrian and vehicular access, upgraded road junctions, and enhanced public infrastructure.

The scheme encourages sustainable transport and community integration. This initiative reflects Kildare County Council’s commitment to Age Friendly planning and inclusive urban renewal.
