The National Convention of Older People’s Councils is an annual event in the Age Friendly Ireland shared service calendar. It is hosted each year by a different local authority.
The Convention brings together Older People’s Council members from across all 31 local authority areas and Age Friendly Programme staff. It is an opportunity to hear about new service and policy developments, listen to older people’s issues, and discuss solutions. The Convention featured a wide array of inputs and presentations from senior political figures, state agencies, non-government organisations, older people, technology demonstrations from private companies, site visits and themed workshops.
