Cllr Paddy Farrell welcomed representatives from Age Friendly Ireland and Leitrim Fire Service to the Council Chamber at Áras an Chontae, Leitrim County Council where a Local Protocol Of Cooperation was signed by Leitrim County Council Chief Executive Joseph Gilhooly and Age Friendly Ireland Acting National Programme Manager Ms Eimear McCormack to establish a collaborative framework for identifying older persons that may benefit from a home fire safety visit. This groundbreaking partnership will see firefighters from all five fire stations in County Leitrim conducting free Home Fire Safety Visits for older residents who are referred through the Healthy Age Friendly Homes Programme.
