This month marked our 10th year as a group and had a special coffee morning yesterday to mark the occasion.

It was the largest group we have ever had, with 83 people present at Raheny GAA club to celebrate our landmark.

Councillor Daryl Barron, representing the Lord Mayor’s office, launched our booklet (attached), put together to mark the journey of the group as well as illustrate the service we provide. We also had picture walls to note all those who have been involved since 2015, some of who have sadly passed away.

Chairperson Clare O’Sullivan began proceedings with a minute’s silence to remember those no longer with us. She then acknowledged the efforts by different parties – Dublin City Council, volunteers and members – to keep the group going.

Daryl then made a short speech, praising the efforts of the group and the contribution it makes for the older people in our community.

It was a fantastic morning with the Rose Garden Singers providing the music with a real feel-good factor in the air.
