Age Friendly Limerick

On Friday, 11th July 2025, a focus group was held in Moyross, Limerick, as part of the second phase of a collaborative research project between IPARC (Physical Activity Research Collaboration) and Limerick Sports Partnership, with support from Age Friendly Limerick.
The session brought together older adults from the local community to discuss their experiences, needs, and perspectives around physical activity programmes.

This initiative forms part of a broader effort to better understand the key elements of programme design, delivery, and evaluation that are most effective and engaging for older adults living in Limerick city. Insights gathered during the focus group will help shape future initiatives to ensure they are inclusive, accessible, and responsive to the preferences of older participants. The Moyross focus group builds on the previous stakeholder engagement workshop with local support agencies, and marks a significant step in creating more impactful, age-friendly health and wellbeing initiatives in the region.
