TU Dublin, in partnership with the Research Ireland ADAPT Centre, is proud to launch Age-Friendly AI: A National Conversation on Artificial Intelligence!
Funded by Taighde Éireann – Research Ireland under the Discover programme.
This two-year initiative will equip older adults with the knowledge and confidence to engage with AI, ensuring their voices shape its future. Through workshops, an online portal, and community events, we’re making AI more accessible and inclusive.
With the support of Age Friendly Ireland and other key partners, they are providing AI literacy training to 1,200 older adults—bridging the digital divide and fostering lifelong learning.
The launch of the ‘Age-Friendly AI: Ireland’s : National Artificial Intelligence Literacy Initiative’ took place last week in TU Dublin.

‘Age Friendly AI’ which is about increasing older people’s understanding of Artificial Intelligence. The study led by Dr Paula Kelly will conduct research with older people about the risks and benefits of AI.
It will include a roadshow in public libraries aiming to raise awareness among older people of AI and the researchers will prepare a White Paper for government with recommendations.
At the launch Frances Brennan, Kerry Age Friendly Ambassador was in attendance as a guest speaker and spoke about his experiences with new technology.
