Heard about great initiatives run by community groups & organisations in Wicklow that have helped people stay connected and mind their mood. A great line of speakers were organised for the webinar including Paul Brown Social Prescriber for the County, Ray Cullen Talk to Tom, Darren Shanahan Foroige, Grainne Quinn Immal Group Baltinglass, Sam Bishop Time Machine Project, Alexandra Kelly Bray Area Partnership & Ronan Mulhern Cairdeas Clubhouse

Aim of Initiative

Community Groups & Organisations in County Wicklow. Also a photography competition for individuals from the County was launched on the night for submission of photo’s throughout Covid in the County. Closing date for submissions is 21st April 2021 but have had a huge response from people of all ages.

Steps critical to success

  1. Getting speakers from different organisations engaged
  2. Using all our partner organisations to advertise widely
  3. Concentrating on a top that was very relevant i.e. Staying Connected & Minding Your Mood

Challenges in Planning / Delivery

  1. Due to current restrictions had to be delivered on zoom
  2. Not everyone is proficient/comfortable with technology
  3. Getting people registered for the event

Outcomes / Benefits

  1. Building contacts between organisations in County Wicklow
  2. Sharing of information about initiatives/programmes that have worked
  3. Launch of hugely popular photography competition in the Garden County
