Having experienced a number of issues with visitors from neighboring Active Retirement Associations who expected the same benefits as people affiliated to Newtownforbes Senior Citizens/Active Retirement Association we, the Committee, decided to act.
The Committee came together and after many meetings and many drafts of Club Application Forms and Terms and Conditions, we finally reached an agreement. We sent our draft copy to our Active Retirement Network Regional Development Officer, Anne Drury, who pointed us in the right direction, proof read it and gave us the go ahead to print it.
Explaining this to the members was no easy feat and now with a €10 Membership fee yearly, a Club Membership Application Form and our Handbook harmony has been restored to Newtownforbes Senior Citizens Club/ARA

1. Research about different types of Clubs by Committee Members
2. What we, as a Committee, wanted for our Club
3. Agreement of Committee Members on the final draft of Club Terms & Conditions and the Application Form.

3 Challenges in Planning / Delivery

1. Getting agreement on a yearly Membership Fee by the Committee.
2. Finalizing the format of the sample booklet and the application form.
3. Agreement of the Committee on the amount of copies required for printing, the cost of printing and who would store the supply of The Information Booklets once printed.
