LIz Maddox, PRO of Cork County OPC had a vision for Midleton – a locally crafted bench that would be an oasis of rest and practicality for all. Wheelchairs and Buggys able to tuck to the table and join the chat or the picnic. Project ACT came on board with The Town Teams Committee, Midleton Support Team and Cork County Age Friendly to make the vision a reality.
Aim of Initiative
Inclusive for all including wheelchair users and buggys. Enabling everyone to ”join the table” and not have to tuck in at the side or sit at arms length at the bench…. Sitting at the bench is now similar experience for all – wheelchairs or not.
