We are what we call the sandwich generation. Young Families are currently providing care for their elderly parents/grandparents whilst also having families of their own with school going aged children. These families are still working, giving back to the economy. Transportation becomes very difficult to access services when the family car is full or on the road for school/work purposes. Without our bus service (which was fundraised for) our club members would not have the opportunity to access FACT Social Club and miss out on much needed support as well as still living and experiencing life no matter what the diagnosis or age.

Aim of Initiative

To deliver access to essential services on an ongoing basis. To desigmatise dementia and create Community inclusion so everyone can be seen heard and included no matter what the circumstances.

Who is it aimed at

The initiative is aimed at people with Dementia or those facing Rural Isolation. We support all people who need a safe environment for growth and inclusion.

3 Steps critical to success

1. Building to provide a safe environment where FACT Social Club can promote effective provision care and practice.
2. Ensure that club members and their families feel enabled and supported through person centered care. We have an honest and transparent service where staff are competent in their skills to deliver specific support.
3. Services we provide can accessed. That services are inclusive and we deliver the care that every person deserves.
