Weekly meetings with a volunteer and planning joint social activities and trips.
Chatting, drinking tea, exchanging opinions, sharing news and talking about the future so that refugees understand what to do and how to live.
We practice weekly meetings, communication, participation in public projects of community centers, and go out to help at motorcycle races as marshals.
We have once a month trips to the museum or to nature for men of different ages, so that the socialization and exchange of life experiences of people of different ages is effective and useful.
I constantly invite men and women to participate in many public affairs.
I help overcome isolation and stiffness of the soul.
I help overcome cultural and language barriers by organizing meetings and events for locals and refugees.
I practice weekly visits to the apartments of my clients, calling them and asking how they are doing.
I created a WhatsApp chat and there I constantly inform them about plans and events. I ask them to write what questions they have.
I communicate with them and encourage them into an active life.
Aim of Initiative
Maintain healthy relationships in society, create a friendly circle of safety, mental health, understanding human needs, identifying needs and meeting needs.
Creating opportunities to be part of society and actively participate in social and public projects.
Feel like a full-fledged part of society and be informed about the environment, events and plans.
Learning new things around.
Who is it aimed at
For people from 45 to 85 years old
3 Steps critical to success
- Contacts of people in my care
- A system of assistance, communication, information for the people I care about.
- Initiating events, plans, involving people in social plans and projects as participants and volunteers.
3 Challenges in Planning / Delivery
- People become more courageous and proactive in a friendly circle of people, often take initiative and become more confident.
I accept their plans and projects and also help implement these plans. - There is a desire to plan more quality and bold ideas that meet the needs of people.
Come up with more interesting events, invite mentors to a meeting and give them gifts that will help them with their health.
For example, arrange a day for them when we buy them the right sports shoes with the help of a consultant.
Also invite a sports instructor who will help older people understand how to choose a good walking or running regimen without harm to their health. - I want to buy sports kits for the whole team as a gift for an active life.
This includes a tracker for your hand, sports sneakers, a uniform, Nordic walking poles, a backpack for tourism, a flask for water, a reflective vest, a whistle to attract attention in case of danger, a baseball cap and a set of vitamins that suit each individual individually.
I also want to buy 10 walkie-talkies for our effective participation in motorcycle racing, auto racing and other projects.
3 Outcomes / Benefits
- Getting feedback from people.
- People find more friends, new experiences and they have a feeling of importance, need in society and a desire to live and do something new.
Share your impressions with other people and invite new people to the team of volunteers. - By constantly communicating with each other, we identify each other’s needs.
This is how we managed to find out that several people have had health problems for many years. We referred them to a doctor and solved their health problems.
Thanks to communication and friendship, a man came to us with severe pain in his heart. He could not ask for help over the phone in English on his own.
I called an ambulance and his life was saved in the emergency vehicle.
I was a translator at that moment in the intensive care vehicle for him.
