Description
Cooking Demonstration including Healthy Eating Advice and Eating Well Packs delivered through the Kilkenny Library Service . “Community Resilience Eating Well Packs. A local chef and Dietitian recorded a cooking demonstration of ‘Healthy Vegetable Soup’ in the School of Food. The recording was promoted on social media and online platforms from Kilkenny County Council, Kilkenny Library Service and Healthy Kilkenny. The collaboration between the Chef and the Dietitian during the recording provided learning outcomes regarding cooking skills and healthy eating information. The Dietitian focused on the nutrition information about the ingredients used in the recipe and highlighted some nutritional guidelines specific to older adults e.g. Vitamin D recommendations and protein. As part of this initiative, 50 Community Resilience Packs Were delivered to individuals through the door to door library service. The contents of the packs included: -Ingredients for Homemade Soup -Instructions and Nutritional Information for the recipe, including the video link to the Cooking Demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfKU6PJbVoc -Healthy Ireland Mask and HI Vis Vest, Library Information, 101 Square Meals Recipe Book, Health Promotion Information, Physical Activity Booklets, Age Frendly fridge magnet”

- The individuals recieved an ‘eating well’ pack that provided health and well being information and ingredients for the Healthy Vegetable Soup to encourage engagement
