The Local Heroes Exhibition is currently being planned by a Working Group and venues for the event are being considered. In addition, content for the event may go up on the Age Friendly website, as well as the production of leaflets with QR codes, to broaden the reach of the campaign, in addition to a bigger emphasis on promoting and publicizing it more on social media.
It has been suggested that this year focus should be on the wider representation of older people from all aspects of life to include island communities, remote geographical areas, migrant communities, and the Deaf community, and that all biographies would be bi-lingual. The working group also emphasized the importance of having a framed memento of the Award to be given to participants in order to commemorate and acknowledge the valuable contributions that older people make to society.
