LAUNCH OF LONGFORD’S AGE FRIENDLY STRATEGY
A new strategy aimed at making Longford a better place for people to grow older in has been launched.
The Longford Age-Friendly Alliance has set out its framework of areas that are important to people as they grow older, such as transportation, outdoor spaces and buildings, health services, communication, and information.
The Longford age friendly strategy was launched in the town library and co-ordinator Mary Carlton Reynolds said there was great community involvement in this project.
After the launch the audience were treated to a performance by Declan Nerney who also welcomed the initiative by saying “I compliment all the people working to make Longford an Age Friendly County’.
