Age Friendly Recognition & Achievement Awards

On the evening of 24th May 2016 in the Fitzpatrick Killiney Castle Hotel, Age Friendly Ireland co-hosted with Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council the second Age Friendly Recognition and Achievement Awards ceremony.  Approximately one hundred truly inspiring projects were submitted from around the country, from which twenty five were shortlisted for their innovative and creative approaches to making Ireland a great place in which to grow old.  All of the twenty five projects were represented on the evening and were presented with a framed certificate during the awards ceremony plus one project from each of the categories was further recognised and presented with a piece of crystal.  It was a wonderful, celebratory evening attended by the Cathaoirleach of Dún Laoghaire Rathdown, Councillor Barry Saul and the delightful Master of Ceremonies for the evening was Mr. Pat Magner.
